The Role:
Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career as a Millwright within the energy industry? Keyera is seeking a New Graduate Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice to join our Maintenance Mechanical team.
You will be based at the Grande Prairie office, serving the KAPS Pipeline assets. This is a hands-on role where you’ll develop your skills in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair in a fast-paced industrial setting. As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the facility and Keyera. You will work a 10-hour shift, 4/3 rotation.

- Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair rotating equipment to maintain pipeline operations.
- Perform routine, preventative, and predictive maintenance on centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, mechanical seals, and more.
- Fit bearings, align shafts, and replace mechanical seals as needed.
- Learn and perform vibration and lubrication analysis.
- Contribute to the Asset Maintenance and Reliability program to support operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in Maximo and assist in developing and executing detailed job plans.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to resolve technical issues and provide support.
- Oversee third-party support crews during overhauls and planned outages.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S standards, Keyera’s safety protocols, and Operational Excellence practices.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who is passionate about industrial mechanics and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:
- Enrolled in an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) program (indentured apprentice) OR a recent RAP program graduate with a strong interest in pursuing Industrial Mechanics. Must have graduated in the past 24 months.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to work with industrial equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a variety of situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Prior experience in an industrial environment, particularly in oil & gas, chemical, or pipeline industries, is a plus.
- Certifications in H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, and First Aid are advantageous.
- Experience with lifting, rigging, and operating equipment like skid steers, telehandlers, and cranes is an asset.
- Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment as required by Alberta OHS 250(2).
