Job Overview
This is a full-time, 40hrs/week (Monday-Thursday) on-site role for a metal fabricator located in Sturgeon Bay, WI. The fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, setting up and operating welding machines, cutting and shaping metal materials, assembling fabricated parts, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. The fabricator will also maintain tools and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and work collaboratively with the production team to meet project deadlines.
Duties
•Fabricate metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
•Operate machinery such as forklifts, welders, and machining tools.
•Utilize measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate dimensions.
•Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
•Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes.
Experience
•Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
•Proficiency in using welding machines and metal cutting and shaping tools
•Knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes
•Ability to perform manual tasks with precision and attention to detail
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues
•Strong understanding of safety protocols and quality standards
•Ability to work well in a team environment
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding or fabrication is a plus
•Previous experience in a similar fabrication or welding role is preferred
•Previous experience with forklift operation is a plus
