Medium/High Voltage Cable Repair Technician

Mine Cable Services Corporation is a Canadian owned manufacturing and service company operating in the mining, oil & gas, container port, and forestry operation sectors domestically and internationally with a primary focus on medium and high voltage electrical cable connections, repairs, and safety equipment. Our head office and primary manufacturing facility is located in Edmonton, Alberta; with additional facilities in British Columbia and Panama.

We are seeking a hardworking, detail-orientated individual join our team as a Cable Repair Technician in Edmonton, AB. High attention to detail, mathematic accuracy and meticulous craftmanship is required to ensure quality of cable repairs. Mine Cable Service will train Cable Repair Technicians in the following:

- Cable fault location and repairing of high voltage mining reeling cables of various sizes and voltages using a variety of techniques and materials

- Vulcanized Splice or Cable Vulcanizing Oven

- Various phase - jacket repairs

- Terminations

- Assembly and/or installation of couplers onto cable, Assemble/Repair of junction boxes

- Testing of couplers and junction boxes

- Frequent out of town travel to customer sites for service wor

Additional Information:

- Scheduled hours of work: 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, out of town travel required

- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs

- Ability to read, write and speak English

- Mechanically inclined and able to use various hand tools or willing to learn

- Must be able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

- Basic electrical knowledge an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
