Mechanical Engineer

Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Engineering opening with an equipment manufacturer that is located in Muncy, PA. This person will be responsible for providing efficient solutions to the development of process and products throughout the product development lifecycle from product modeling/design through installation and commissioning. As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for performing and coordinating technical engineering services to ensure projects are completed within budget and in compliance with specifications while meeting all project timeline milestones. These services include but are not limited to project planning, system design and reviews using SolidWorks, process engineering, process layout drawings, equipment drawings, general arrangement drawings and engineering analysis.

Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:

- Identify resource requirements and allocate them efficiently to ensure project milestones are achieved.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, multi-task.

- Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time constraints.

- Ensuring that products meet compliance regulations.

- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize sheet metal and precision machined component designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

- Work closely with production managers to schedule and prioritize manufacturing tasks in alignment with project deadlines.

- Generate project documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.

- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to provide project updates and address any concerns or issues.

- Review and ensure customer specifications are being met for assigned projects.

- Perform field commissioning/troubleshooting/technical support for supplied equipment.

- Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing solutions to resolve them.

- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

- Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.

- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

- Writing technical documentation for machine operators.

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering

- Professional experience using SolidWorks

- Prior machine design experience

- Project engineering/management experience

- Product problem resolution experience

- Manufacturing solutioning experience

- MRP/ERP experience

- Experience communicating with customers

- Strong communication skills

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
