Mechanical Engineer

Your Impact

As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in product design within this team. You will be designing, developing, creating prototypes, and testing. This role will interact with EE designers, manufacturing test engineers and peers from the global engineering organization. You will design, develop, and create 3D models, detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs, electro-mechanical parts, and gauges. The primary goal will be the design and development of new products and monitoring devices for our Utilities and industrial customers. We use Agile development Methods and the Scrum Framework to deliver critical, customer-facing, solutions.

- Design complex components & assemblies with DFMA in mind

- Fabricate physical prototypes for proof of concept and testing

- Mechanical and structural analysis as needed (FEA using SolidWorks)

- Present mechanical design concepts to project teams

- Evaluate new components, materials, and manufacturing methods for application in new and existing products.

- Verify acceptance criteria is met, support transition to production, and perform failure analysis on problem areas.

- Document features, issues, and tests in compliance with our internal processes

- Be able to derive configured product models from the existing products.

- Able to perform Engineering Change Requests that involve updating drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications - External

- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Master's degree is a plus.

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a design Engineer.

- Extensive experience developing 3D CAD designs for parts and test fixtures using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar design platforms.

- Ability to operate machine tools to touch up prototype parts, adding details, threading, polishing, and other operations to finish parts before building and testing

- Experience in designs consisting of electro-mechanical and optical integration

- Experience with DFM and processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal forming and aluminum casting.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 81,200.00 - 150,800.00
