About Us

McDaniel Metals, LLC fabricates aftermarket HVAC components using advanced sheet metal processes and equipment, including CNC Lasers, Panel Benders, Coil Lines, and Press Brakes. With over 160,000 sq. ft. across three facilities, we supply major HVAC OEMs and distribution networks nationwide.

The Role

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design, development, and implementation of HVAC accessory products. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused—guiding a small engineering team while also working directly with electro-mechanical systems, product design, and manufacturing processes.

What You’ll Do

- Lead projects involving HVAC system components, motor controls, and airflow management.

- Design and test mechanical/electro-mechanical systems including motors, drives, and control circuits.

- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize manufacturability.

- Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.

- Oversee product development from concept through testing and commissioning.

What We’re Looking For

- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.

- 3–5 years of engineering experience, with 2+ years in HVAC, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical systems.

- Hands-on knowledge of motors (single/three-phase, PSC, EC), drives, sensors, and sheet metal systems.

- Strong CAD skills (Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD preferred).

- Proven leadership ability and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and ladder logic.

- Knowledge of airflow, blowers, and HVAC design principles.

- Familiarity with FEA and product testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
