Mechanical Designer

Established in 2008 Specialized Metal Fabricators is a custom sheet metal manufacturing company. Focusing primarily on the architectural industry we excel at providing quality service and exceptionally quick turnaround times. We are currently looking for a Architectural Drafter / Mechanical Designer to join our team in Woodbridge, ON.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Proficient in reading and interpretation of technical drawings

- Strong attention to detail

- 3 years experience in preparation of sheet metal 3D CAD Models and respective drawings in Solidworks

- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge

- Creativity and analytical skills

- Must be able to use 2D AutoCAD software

- CAD/ Drafting Certificate or Degree - or completion or related field

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understanding customer's requirements and identifying production capability gaps

- Design and preparation of fabrication drawings of varying complexity on various sheet metal parts in Solidworks

- Generate assembly drawings

- Program CNC laser and router machines

- Preparation of BOM and materials for ordering

- Revisions and editing of designs

- Communications with clients for approvals

ASSETS:

- Associates or Bachelors in Engineering Technology is a PLUS!

- Experience in the sheet metal industry is also a PLUS!

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
