Mechanical CAD Designer

CAD/CAM Design & Drafting Person

Juniper Industries, a leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and watertight/ballistic closures for ships seeks a CAD/CAM Design & Draftsperson for a challenging position working with engineering and production departments to increase production efficiencies. Heavy emphasis will be placed on manufacturing feasibility. Individual will be intimately involved from concept through the complete manufacturing cycle. Training on company utilized software is provided.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for engineering drawings, bill of materials, and instruction sheets to be used in manufacturing and training of department employees on all designated production equipment

Job Duties:

- Create & maintain arrangement & detail drawings for various products according to company’s standards

- Construct Bills of Materials for corresponding part numbers

- Create and maintain manufacturing travelers with fabrication, weld, and assembly instructions

- Input part numbers and descriptions using MRP tools

- Communicate with production department to gather manufacturing data and document it

- Work on various standardization projects as required

Qualifications

- High level competency with AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar programs)

- Ability to read & understand technical drawings & documents

- Good understanding of GD&T, and application of tolerancing between parts with practical implementation

- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly

- Solid understanding & application of mathematical concepts

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)

- Must be extremely organized & detail oriented

- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and adjust workload based upon changing priorities

- Ability to communicate with engineers and manufacturing personnel

- US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
