Keep the Kirby Inland Marine Florida Bunker Group’s vessels operational in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Perform maintenance on vessels. Regularly inspect all hoses, gauges, tuning engines, pumps, clutches, bolts, steering motors and steering pumps.
- Repair engines, gears, pumps, motors, compressors, controls, portable water systems, electrical systems, steering, blower fans, fire systems, alarm panel, toilets, MSD units, sinks, computers, winches and cranes.
- Replace engines, pumps, motors, compressors, controls, water heaters, clutches, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, washers/dryers, lights, fire system, wiring, fuses, alarm switches, MSD unit, guards, piping, doors, grease lines, computers, winches, and cranes.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of vessel operations systems and ability to repair all vessel operations systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; climb aboard and move around vessels; climb 90 degree vertical ladders; bend, crawl and maneuver around tight spaces.
- Ability to use and operate tools, forklift, crane, come-a-long, torque wrench, special tools and vessel location software. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions
Normal work hours are 700am to 500pm Monday through Friday. Considerable overtime. On call after hours for emergency repairs on vessels.
Education
High school diploma or GED and Diesel Mechanics certification.
