We are seeking a skilled [Insert Job Title] to perform heavy rigging operations and facilitate the replacement of wind turbine components. The ideal candidate will be experienced in wind turbine maintenance, familiar with heavy rigging, and committed to following all safety regulations. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to work at significant heights.
- Perform heavy rigging operations for the replacement of wind turbine components.
- Mobilize Liftra equipment as required.
- Comply with all company and government safety regulations and guidelines.
- Report directly to the Large Corrective Supervisor or Lead.
- Complete all company-required training within designated timeframes.
- Travel as needed for project assignments (typically 4-6 weeks at a time).
- High School Diploma or GED (Technical school preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance (experience in major component exchange preferred; exceptions considered based on background).
- Familiarity with heavy rigging preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance.
- Ability to pass core safety, climbing, and other required training courses.
- Willingness to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
- No license suspension or restrictions within the past 3 years.
- No DWI/DWA/OWI/OUI violations within the past 5 years.
- No more than 3 points on the motor vehicle report in the past 3 years.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machines, tools, and maintenance practices.
- Customer & Personal Service: Commitment to providing quality service and maintaining customer satisfaction.
- English Proficiency: Full proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Troubleshooting and repairing specialized equipment.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Following work instructions and safety protocols.
- Active Learning and Critical Thinking for effective problem-solving.
- Operation Monitoring to ensure proper machine functionality.
- Reading Comprehension for manuals, guides, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Comfortable operating company-provided technology (cell phone, laptop, tablet, digital camera).
- Finger Dexterity: Precise coordination for handling small components.
- Control Precision: Accurate control of machinery and tools.
- Problem Sensitivity: Ability to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Manual Dexterity: Quick and coordinated hand movements.
- Near Vision: Clear vision for detailed work.
- Arm-Hand Steadiness: Maintaining stability while handling equipment.
- Information Ordering: Organizing tasks and processes logically.
- Deductive & Inductive Reasoning: Applying logical problem-solving strategies.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 90% of the time.
- Capability to operate heavy equipment and signal rig loads up to 100 tons.
- Comfortable working at heights of 300 feet or more.
- Must meet OSHA weight limits (250-300 lbs. max).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments (industrial, manufacturing, and power facilities).
