Material Movement Specialist

We are currently looking for a Material Movement Specialist who will report to the Logistics Supervisor, and will mainly transports and handles materials to and from workstations while documenting inventory location.

Responsabilities

- Execute material handling activities based on verbal instructions or official Velan documentation, including Velan Production Orders

- Transport and handle equipment, valves, and valve components safely and efficiently

- Record Work-in-Progress (WIP) movements by accurately updating inventory locations in Velan’s computerized management system

- When system downtime occurs, document movements in a paper ledger for subsequent entry into the system

- Provide guidance, orientation, or basic instructions to other employees when required

- Perform minor upkeep and maintenance tasks, and promptly report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues

Your profile

- Must hold a valid Velan fork truck certification or be able to successfully complete the required certification test.

- Ability to understand and interpret shop travelers to ensure materials are moved to the correct locations as specified

- Capable of working from verbal instructions to move, palletize, load, or unload materials from racks and storage areas

- Knowledge of standard rigging techniques and proper use of slings and material‑handling equipment

- Commitment to maintaining excellent housekeeping and organizational practices at all times

- Ability to perform occasional medium to heavy physical tasks

- May be required to supply personal hand tools necessary for the job
