Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler
Department: Crib
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Qualifications:
•
High School graduate
•
Computer-oriented clerical skills
•
Ability to operate or learn to operate a fork lift truck and department scale
•
Strong people skills and committed to fostering good associate relations
•
Detail Oriented
•
Good written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
•
Operate personal computer to access e-mail and other basic office support software.
•
Maintain accurate inventory of all parts and supplies.
•
Issue parts and supplies to active Travelers or Purchase Orders. Maintain records and paperwork.
•
Update inventories and reports.
•
Investigate and reconcile problems and potential problems associated with material control.
•
Respool cable when necessary.
•
Coordinate and/or transport reels to and from departments daily.
•
Promote teamwork and continual improvement.
•
Maintain good work habits.
•
This administrative position requires the following physical abilities:
•
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
•
Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands.
•
Standing for extended periods of time.
•
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
•
Lifting, carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
•
Pushing, pulling objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
•
Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.
•
Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes and all required personal protection equipment.
•
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
