POSITION SUMMARY:
Material movement, up to twenty-five (25) feet wide, using a forklift. You will be operating the forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. This position may be involved driving around the warehouse and other locations/departments within the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Perform duties in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures.
•
Material handling of material used at the facility.
•
Operate forklift and company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
•
Receive or transfer material as needed.
•
Locate and move stock of product or raw material to production workstations and/or open trucks.
•
Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
•
Must have valid driver’s license.
•
Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
•
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
•
Basic math, reading and record keeping skills required.
•
Ability to maneuver 25-foot wide racks with proper material handling equipment.
•
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds as a team lift.
•
One-year experience in a warehouse environment.
•
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
•
No serious traffic violations in the last 3 years; this would include NEVER being convicted of the following: reckless/careless driving; driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs; hit & run, leaving the scene of an accident or failure to report an accident; excessive speeding 20 mph or more over the posted limits.
•
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
•
Work involves standing, walking, reaching, using a keyboard, stooping, kneeling, repetitive motion and moving, lifting or pushing objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
•
Plant environment may be hot, floors may be slippery and uneven.
•
May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
•
Noise level may be moderate to loud.
