A Planning Supervisor in Manufacturing leads a team of planners to ensure production
aligns with company goals, customer needs, and industry standards by managing master
planning, production planning, and shift planning. They oversee scheduling, coordinate with
various departments, and monitor inventory and production to identify and resolve
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, develop, and retain a team of planners.
- Production Planning: Develop and maintain a finite scheduling system to meet production
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for bulk, work-inprogress,
- Coordination: Coordinate with manufacturing staff, procurement teams, facilities,
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays in the planning process.
- Reporting: Prepare scheduling reports and communicate planning status to relevant
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and participate in problem-solving
- Strong understanding of production planning and inventory management principles.
- Experience with finite scheduling and MRP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of how to read manufacturing / construction drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, & nesting software is a plus.
