JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting in design, coordination, protection, voltages, load balancing, planning, and troubleshooting of the company's electric system. In addition, this position is assists with SCADA, and two-way radio system maintenance,
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
•High School Diploma or GED required.
•Two (2) years of utility experience preferred.
•Must have knowledge of principles and practices of electrical engineering and the operations of an electrical utility system.
•Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office products as well as with specific vendor product programs.
•Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS & LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
•Must maintain a working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and should maintain a working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
•Knowledge of general accounting and fiscal management practices.
•A valid driver's license.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Assists with the management and development of DMEA's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA).
•Assists with revising circuit diagrams, schematic drawings, and other electrical diagrams based on the analyses.
•Assists engineers and purchasing staff to prepare bids and acquire the necessary materials for work plan projects. Assist with the development work scopes for construction activities.
•Actively supports and follows cybersecurity policies and standards and participates in the progression of cybersecurity in the Operational Technology (OT) environment in conjunction with the IT department.
•Assists in developing and maintaining current engineering analysis models utilizing DEW applications.
•Utilizes, develops, and applies engineering software to develop system planning documents, voltage drop studies, short-circuit analysis, arc-flash studies, and power quality investigation.
•Assists with the administration of DMEA's joint use contracts. Including new application review, ensuring corrective actions where necessary as well as ensuring a timely audit cycle.
•Creates, expands, and maintains professional and productive working relationships with peers and stakeholders. Works collaboratively with colleagues and fosters a spirit of cooperation in the workplace.
•Responsible for special projects as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Regular, predictable attendance is required.
•Close to 75% of the work performed is done indoors in an office setting. The remaining time may be spent outdoors on the job site.
•The employee is may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. Frequent travel by company vehicle, both as a driver and a passenger, is required. Occasional travel by commercial means may be required.
