POSITION
CES is seeking applications for the role of
Managing Director of Pricing
. The pricing manager is responsible for overseeing the workflow of the Pricing Team and for ensuring the quality of all electricity, natural gas, liquid fuels, and other energy commodity pricing and procurement activities conducted by CES. This includes overseeing the bid process, maintaining key supplier communications and relationships, and ensuring that CES provides accurate and reliable information and data to our clients as well as suppliers. The pricing manager is also responsible for coordinating across departments, working closely with the Energy Services Advisor team. Additional responsibilities include:
Oversee and Manage all Pricing functions within CES, including but not limited to:
•Manage and oversee all members of the Pricing Team (currently consists of four employees).
•Work with Pricing Team to ensure all pricing (electricity, natural gas, and other energy commodities) is of high quality and meets CES’ high standards.
•Manage and direct the workflow processes within the Pricing Team to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and responsiveness.
•Oversee the internal and external data flows and processes, ensuring that all applicable documents and data are secured to provide a high-quality pricing analysis.
•Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and coordinate with other CES teams as necessary to implement improvements or changes.
Energy Services Advisors (ESA) Team and Customer Support
•Work with the team of Energy Services Advisors in communicating, reviewing, analyzing, and supporting customer energy information – including but not limited to – electricity, natural gas, and other commodities, both utility and supplier statements and other applicable information as it relates to energy, energy usage, demand, billing, utilities, tariffs, etc.
•Provide ESA team with support and ensure that the Pricing Team delivers timely and quality output to the ESA team, suppliers, and customers.
•Understand, learn, and be able to analyze and audit all applicable customer energy bill information, supporting the ESA team in addressing issues for customers.
Supplier Management
•Maintain and manage relationships with suppliers, staying up to date on suppliers’ service areas, contractual requirements, and product offerings.
•Manage day-to-day supplier communication as it relates to pricing and products offered by CES.
•Take the lead on supplier-related issues, including timeliness of RFP’s, format, accuracy, disputes, billing, etc.
Reporting/Administration/Analysis
•Develop and manage tracking methodology to manage workflow, sales information, etc.
•Perform reporting functions to communicate trends in CES pricing transactions such as:
o Conducting spreadsheet analyses and visualizations
o Drafting reports communicating results
•Assist in the development of customer-facing and CES presentations
A successful candidate will need to become intimately familiar with the Company’s:
•Internal systems & products – including an internally developed CES database, Supplier Bid Form, Bid Analysis, Zoho CRM, and other, to be able to answer questions about how the systems work, what type of data is entered and stored, how to retrieve data, how the various systems interconnect.
•Internal processes – including pricing requests, bid processing, budgeting, bill auditing, etc.
Preferred qualifications include:
•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, math, computer science, economics, environmental studies, accounting, finance, or other related undergraduate programs.
•5+ years’ experience in procurement and/or the energy field. Energy or related industry experience is a plus but not required.
•A team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with others both within your department and across the company.
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Strong writing and communication skills.
•Excellent spreadsheet, data analysis and graphical presentation skills.
•Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload of concurrent projects with flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.
•Database management skills, and/or experience with data visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
