Walter Canada is looking for a Managing Director.
For our Managing Director in Canada, we are searching for a dynamic Leader with a passion for Sales and for leading and developing successful teams. This position steers and directs the sales activities within Canada and has the responsibility for delivering sales growth, productivity, efficient management of P&L and for implementing the company´s strategy within the region. The future position holder will be a member of the Walter America’s Sales Management Team.

Key Performance Areas:
•Lead, inspire and develop the company´s managers and staff
•Set the annual priorities for the region based on the company’s overall targets and objectives
•Plan, drive and execute the sales strategies and targets within the region; follow up and ensure set KPIs are met
•Drive global strategies throughout the region and ensure strong local business plans are developed and implemented in the sales units to meet agreed objectives
•Identify further opportunities for growth to stay on top of market trends and requirements
•Develop customer relationships, channel partners and Tool Management
•Represent Walter to major customers and professional associations
•Create and use synergies within the region and across its borders and support the further digitalization of our internal ways of working
•Ensure know-how transfer in the region and bring in new input by learning from best practice in other regions
•Network and collaborate across our Walter organization and act as the central contact person and representative of the region for other company functions and business process owners
Your profile:
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in business studies or comparable qualifications acquired through many years of professional experience in a comparable environment
•10 + years in an executive management position, leading Sales function in cutting tools market.
•Experienced in the management and motivation of people
•Excellent communication skills with a structured way of working
•High level of process understanding and problem-solving skills
•Good management skills, including sales strategy development and implementation.
•Experience in the Canadian cutting tools market; knowledge of industry operations, dynamics, and key players is an advantage
•Financial awareness and understanding of impact on the business, for example the importance of cost control and maximization of profit potential
•Excellent verbal and written English language skills
•Ability to travel 50% both domestic and International
