E Source is seeking a seasoned utility software selection executive to assist our electric, gas, and water utility clients with technology investments to fulfill their strategic imperatives. This position involves software selection, request for proposal (RFP) development, business case creation, investment planning, and benefit analysis.

What You’ll Do•Research and evaluate software solutions tailored to the utility industry (electric, gas, water). Assess technical capabilities, scalability, and compatibility with existing systems.
•Design and prepare comprehensive RFPs to solicit proposals from software vendors, ensuring all technical, functional, and business requirements are clearly defined.
•Create comprehensive business cases that justify software investments. Analyze costs, benefits, risks, and return on investment.
•Prepare executive-level presentations to help clients get approval for strategic project investments from internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
•Develop detailed investment plans that align with the utility’s strategic goals. Prioritize initiatives based on potential impact and resource availability.
•Develop detailed financial models for costs associated with strategic projects.
•Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine the benefits of proposed investments. Measure performance against expected outcomes.
•Work closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, finance, and operations—to align with utility objectives.
•Prepare and present reports on findings, recommendations, and progress to senior management and other key stakeholders.
•Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented software solutions and investment plans. Recommend adjustments as needed to enhance productivity and efficiency.
What Will Make You a Good Fit
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in software selection, RFP development, business case development, and investment planning for investor-owned or municipally owned utilities (1M+ customers).
•Deep expertise in utility industry software solutions and technologies.
•Strong analytical skills and ability to create detailed business cases and conduct benefit analyses.
•Ability to create detailed financial models to represent the costs and benefits of software investments, including capex/opex forecasts, depreciation schedules, and total cost of ownership projections.
•Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in the utility industry.
•Exceptional project management skills for investor-owned or municipally owned utilities (1M+ customers) to oversee the software selection and implementation process.
•Clear and effective communication skills to articulate technical and business requirements.
•Ability to address and resolve issues that arise during software selection and implementation.
•Capacity to develop and execute strategic plans for software investments.

The budgeted salary for this position is
$200,000+ base USD + annual bonus up to 30%
. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
This role will require up to 80% travel based on business development needs.
