Coeur is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Manager to lead and manage sustainability disclosure and reporting activities at a growing metals and mining company. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of core sustainability frameworks—including GRI, SASB, TCFD, and TNFD—and mining-specific standards such as ICMM, CMS, and TSM, paired with technical writing skills and the critical thinking needed to interpret complex data and communicate meaningful insights
The person in this role is responsible for assurance processes to ensure robust and verifiable information is disclosed. The Sustainability Manager will also be responsible for supporting the sustainability related strategic initiatives that are aligned with the business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure
- Lead the full cycle of the annual responsibility report, from scoping and planning to execution and publication
- Develop and maintain internal standards, templates, and guidance to ensure replicable, auditable, and high-quality disclosures
- Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret sustainability-related data from multiple internal sources
- Maintain awareness of evolving reporting standards (e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD, ISSB) and align, where appropriate
- Collaborate with internal audit, external assurance providers, and consultants
- Prepare management discussion and analysis of sustainability performance and trends
- Work with applications and I.T. teams to develop and maintain internal dashboards to communicate sustainability-related performance and KPIs
Stakeholder Engagement & Project Management
- Collaborate closely with Environment, H&S, HR, Finance, and Risk teams to ensure integrated sustainability efforts
- Manage timelines, consultants, and budgets for reporting-related projects
- Lead the competitive bidding process for sustainability consultancy services
- Develop project schedules and communicate progress through regular status updates
- Respond to sustainability rating agencies and investor inquiries, ensuring accurate representation of company performance
- Assist with internal and external communications to support consistency of sustainability messaging
Strategic Support
- Support long-term sustainability strategy implementation and reporting
- Help develop action plans to enhance disclosure across material sustainability topics
- Contribute to broader sustainability initiatives including climate strategy, water and biodiversity programs, and human rights due diligence
- Promote continuous improvement through proactive process evaluations and actionable recommendations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability, CSR, or ESG program management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Technical experience with GHG accounting, forecasting and target-setting, aligned with the GHG Protocol
- Familiarity with sustainability ratings agencies and disclosure best practices
- Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience setting up new systems and gaining internal support from peers and operational-level stakeholders
- Project management experience, including consultant oversight and cost optimization
- Familiarity with risk management principles and sustainability-related governance
Preferred
- Experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector
- Familiarity with industry-specific frameworks (e.g., TSM, ICMM, GISTM, World Gold Council)
- Experience with the Integrated Reporting Framework and value creation across multiple capitals
- Understanding of human rights, biodiversity, water and other environmental-related management practices and concepts
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Understanding of rural operations context and unique challenges
- Field-based work and H&S fundamentals

Please note, this role will be based in our Chicago, Illinois Headquarters. Remote work is not supported. The role will require travel approximately 10 – 15 percent of the time (sites and conferences).
The salary range offered for this role is USD $115,000-120,000 range. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Coeur Mining will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Coeur Mining.
