This Environmental Manager position is responsible for implementation and on-going support of environmental plans, policies, procedures, and compliance programs at the Apex Generating Station in Las Vegas. Additional responsibilities include implementation and on-going support of NERC plans, policies, procedures, and compliance programs. The position reports to the Facility Manager. Qualified candidates should have 3-5 years' experience in environmental compliance. Experience working in a power plant or in an industrial facility preferred.
Job Responsibilities
•Includes the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
•Lead implementation of site-specific environmental programs
•Responsible for all environmental-related regulatory filings, inspections, reports and permit related work (Title V, Potable Water Permit, SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous and Universal Wastes)
•Responsible for PSM program, State of NV CAPP (Including but not limited to reports, inspections, regulatory filings and permit-related work)
•Serve as technical environmental subject matter expert for plant personnel including Acid Rain, Title V operating permits, SPCC plans, waste and hazardous waste regulations, Risk Management Plans and Tier II
•Maintain site-specific permits and plans including providing data and support for permit modification renewal applications
•Conduct, manage, and track environmental training
•Support the management of key environmental programs including air quality, hazardous waste, hazardous substance storage, Zero Liquid discharge and pollution prevention
•Implementing corporate environmental programs and initiatives
•Work with the site safety professional to support development and implementation of site annual HSE plans, goals, and strategies for improving safety and environmental performance
Required Skills / Knowledge
•Ability to deal with complex safety, environmental and regulatory situations are required.
•Candidate must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
•Must be computer proficient (Microsoft Office Suites, Learning Management Systems, EPA, Maximo, NERC and local government reporting software, etc.)
•Adherence to EthosEnergy corporate environmental policies and directives
Experience
•3 - 5 years’ experience in environmental compliance
•Experience working in a power plant or in an industrial facility preferred
•Knowledge of environmental and safety laws and regulations, federal and state
•Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
•Must be a self-starter that works well with minimal supervision, coordinating resources as needed
•Must be computer proficient (Microsoft Office Suites, Learning Management Systems, EPA and local government reporting software, etc.)
Education Requirements
•Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience/professional training is required as well as a demonstrated track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in an industrial setting.
Physical Requirements
•Position requires periods of intense physical exertion, including walking, climbing, and lifting.
•Ability to lift and move material up to 40 pounds.
•Ability to climb and perform a function up to a 12-ft ladder.
