We are seeking an experienced Manager of License and Code Compliance to join our Qcells Service Solutions (QSS) team. This role is responsible for obtaining and maintaining contractor licenses, ensuring continuous code compliance, and supporting the legal and operational integrity of Qcells’ dealer network. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of state and jurisdictional licensing requirements for electrical, solar, and battery storage systems, and will collaborate closely with the Legal and Risk departments to ensure full regulatory adherence across all markets.
This position may be based in San Francisco, CA, or offered as a remote role for qualified candidates.
- Acquire and maintain all required contractor licenses across operational states.
- Research and secure new licenses as Qcells expands into additional markets.
- Monitor and report on changes to licensing requirements, building codes, and relevant regulations.
- Advise management on best practices for code compliance, safety, and industry standards.
- Review and enhance due diligence processes for project validation.
- Lead root cause analyses for system or compliance failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay current with updates to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and communicate potential impacts to internal teams.
- Review system inspections, dealer installations, and related processes to ensure adherence to company standards.
- Develop and maintain installer-facing technical content, documentation, and compliance guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 7-10 years of experience in electrical construction.
- Residential electrical licensing experience required.
- Proven ability to obtain and manage multiple state contractor licenses.
- Experience with rooftop PV and battery storage systems preferred.
Strong cross-functional collaboration, organizational, and communication skills
- Preferred certifications include NABCEP, OSHA 30, or Master Electrician license.
Ability to travel up to 20% based on business needs.
- Overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple solar PV and battery OEMs.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
