The opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Manager, Commercial and Contract Compliance to join our Emera Newfoundland and Labrador Regulatory team. Reporting to the General Counsel & VP, Business Development, the Manager will be responsible for collaborating with members of ENL to ensure assigned regulatory initiatives are completed accurately and on time.

Accountabilities:

- Lead financial analysis for Regulatory capital filings.

- Conduct forensic reviews as required for key regulatory and commercial matters by working with internal team members and external counsel.

- Monitor commercial obligations and lead any analysis or follow-up to ensure overall compliance.

- Assist as required with other key Regulatory filings, including Assessments.

- Assist with ad-hoc analyses and respond to data requests from stakeholders within specified timelines.

- Ability to understand business risks, challenges and recognize opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in business (economics, finance, commerce) or equivalent experience is required in this role.

- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.

- Ability to manage multiple, complex, long-term projects with flexibility to achieve outcomes within strict timeframes is vital to this position.

- Possesses a track record in fostering effective working relationships with colleagues and external contacts to achieve company priorities.

- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to senior leaders and leadership objectives to project teams.

- Forensic investigation experience is considered a plus.
