New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Manager of Innovative Solutions for Operations. This role will will be responsible for identifying and implementing decarbonization efforts and report on sustainability objectives that align with the organization's commitment to understand the impact that energy costs and resiliency have on our customers. The Manager of Innovative Solutions will look for opportunities throughout our field operations to maintain our high reputation of customer service while more effectively and efficiently focusing on lowering the emissions of our field operations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify available offerings and key differentiators, supporting strategic planning, product development, business planning, and performance metrics that drive positive business outcomes.
- Define and execute business requirements for product implementation, prioritizing initiatives that align with and advance the Company’s decarbonization objectives.
- Serve as a liaison across departments—including Operations, Sales, IT, and SAVEGREEN—as well as relevant committees, to advocate for program needs and ensure alignment in the development and maintenance of decarbonization initiatives, systems, and procedures.
- Foster strong working relationships with department managers to ensure both customer and Company interests are effectively represented.
- Maintain productive internal and external relationships, promoting a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and shared accountability.
- Deliver on performance goals for the Office of Innovation, supporting the Company’s stakeholder commitments and broader business unit objectives to reduce carbon emissions and facilitate change management.
- Coordinate and initiate training programs for new technologies and processes that support decarbonization efforts.
- Leverage feedback from internal teams, contractors, and customers to develop and implement cost-saving strategies, enhance program returns, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform financial impact analyses using modeling tools; collaborate with Credit and Risk departments to secure necessary approvals and resolve implementation challenges with contractors and internal teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and follow-through in all areas of responsibility.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy industry.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience managing contractors is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness and ability to travel for business as needed.
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for learning emerging technologies and business models.
- Strong collaboration skills with a proven ability to drive and embrace change within a team environment.
- Experience or interest in strategic planning, corporate development, and/or business development.

Other Details:
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $115,900- $147,700.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
