We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
This is a key role in our Finance Department with an opportunity to advance for an individual who is keen with numbers and understands Manufacturing Accounting. This person will be expected to grasp concepts quickly, over communicate with their supervisor and work well under high-pressure situations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Perform financial report writing and interpretation for management review.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant financial laws, including securities law and governmental accounting standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to internal controls.
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff and assist in their professional development.
- Handle payroll processing and related reporting requirements.
- Prepare tax documents and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, debits & credits, and general financial concepts.
- Experience in corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, public accounting, or private equity is preferred.
- Familiarity with wills, trusts & estate law is a plus but not required.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
