Maintenance, Working Foreman

The "Working Foreman" is a hands on position is responsible for various maintenance duties at Altec Aluminum in Jeffersonville, IN. Duties will involve maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment in a variety of departments. Overtime will be required at various times to cover absence, vacations, breakdowns and projects.

Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aluminum extrusion presses, handling equipment, and related systems

- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues in extrusion press systems to minimize downtime

- Maintain the equipment to ensure production teams are able to meet production goals and requirements

- Perform routine maintenance of age oven components, doors, fans, and burners, thermocouples, etc.

- Perform PMs as required

- Basic hands-on knowledge of welding and fabrication equipment

- Capable of assisting and supporting other plant locations when needed

- Ability to direct support resources as required

- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area and ensure tools are in good working condition

You will be trained with production personnel to understand the machines you will be maintaining

Requirements:

- Forklift qualified

- Mechanical & Electrical experience with a minimum 3 years in the maintenance field

- Be able to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, to perform fault analysis

- Good interpersonal skills

- Be able to work independently with minimal direction

- Safety conscience and exposure to lack-out-tag-out procedures

PLC, aluminum extrusions, ovens, or paint line background is a plus

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
