Summarize the purpose of the job in three or four lines.
Performs electronic/electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximize production while assuring product quality standards are met. This is completed through work orders [break down and preventative maintenance]. Ability to become an equipment and process expert to provide a high level of work repair completion that directly impacts product quality, uniformity and productivity. All work orders and PMs are entered into the EAM - maintenance management system (CMMS) planner so that the applicable documentation is available electronically.
Describe the fundamental duties and functions of the job.
1. Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work orders and maintain records in EAM - maintenance management (CMMS) system.
2. Ability to learn and troubleshoot machinery in all areas of the manufacturing process.
3. Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures whenever working on equipment.
4. Diagnose PLC malfunctions. An understanding of ladder logic is required. Working knowledge of HMIs.
5. Responsible for the timely technical development to achieve job level expectations.
6. Knowledge of process controls and the utilization of sensor technology is required.
7. Ability to learn the plant operation and processes – Build foundational excellence.
8. Ability to communicate appropriate information concerning equipment operation and minor maintenance requirements to manufacturing personnel on a timely basis.
9. Verify specifications on equipment and complete standardized documentation for installation, maintenance, and operations qualifications – as applicable.
10. Maintain work area, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure serviceability, cleanliness, and safety – 5S.
Describe any specialized knowledge or experience that are required on a regular basis to perform the essential functions of the job. Include any professional certifications or degrees that are required.
· Verifiable job background in Industrial Maintenance or Military Experience in a maintenance discipline and/or enrollment or completion of an associate’s degree in EET, MET, Mechatronics or similar curriculum.
· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation and mechanical disciplines is an asset.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
· Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Describe the physical demands and work environment that are representative of what an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
· Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to loud noise. Work may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, walk, sit, reach, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
· Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the manufacturing plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required.
· Must be able to exhibit clear vision at 20 inches or less; and exhibit clear vision at 20 feet or more.
· Must be able to exhibit solid peripheral vision; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point.
· Must be able to exhibit solid depth perception; three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
· Routinely required to lift objects up to 25 pounds; and occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during course of a workday.
