About This Job

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II supports the Manufacturing Engineering Team by planning, observing, documenting, and implementing procedures and processes for product fabrication and assembly. This role involves troubleshooting issues, estimating operation times, and preparing related materials. The technician recommends and implements improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings. Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the technician helps promote continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing principles, 5S exercises, and participates in Kaizens.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

•

Assist in planning, observing, documenting, and implementing manufacturing procedures and processes.

•

Troubleshoot and resolve issues, estimate operation times, and prepare related materials.

•

Recommend and implement improvements to operations, equipment utilization, and processes.

•

Utilize communication skills, mechanical design, and manufacturing principles to positively impact safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

•

Create SOPs for production and other areas as needed.

•

Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation.

•

Drive root cause corrective actions to improve flow and reduce non-conformances.

•

Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic, and safe workstation and tooling designs.

•

Participate in Kaizen events and utilize RBS tools for continuous improvement.

•

Assist in developing and implementing lean manufacturing action plans and cost-out projects.

•

Assist in resolving setup, tooling, and fixture problems, and develop process routings and setup instructions.

REQUIREMENTS:

•

High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. Must be able to read blueprints.

•

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•

Experience with Lean practices/6S/Kaizen will be helpful in this role.

•

Highly organized with solid time management skills.

•

Ability to work with little supervision.

•

High school math skills.

•

Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

•

Computer skills – post high school.

•

Team-oriented with the ability to influence others without authority.

Expected Hourly Range: $26.44 – $33.08
