Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in the Minting operation.

1. Perform general plant maintenance, including building, lighting, plumbing as required.
2. Test machinery and make any necessary adjustments for machine product changeovers.
3. Inspect, diagnose and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools, power tools and voltage meters.
4. Troubleshooting skills to maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, high and low electrical systems.
5. Weld, solder and connect a variety of pipes, including copper, PVC for water and air runs.
6. Forklift, hoist, rig, align, move and setup machinery or equipment.
7. Follow plans/blueprints to verify material components and specifications of machinery for installation or repair.
8. Install machinery according to cuts sheets, plans and drawings including all wiring, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics.
9. Experience with PLC, VFD, motor starts, contactors, relays, solenoids and coils. Must be able to read electrical schematics and manuals to aid in troubleshooting.
10. Must have the ability to accept and complete projects in a timely manner relating to skill set, with a desire to learn more.
11. Must be able to learn and use a CMMS system in the aid of daily work order requests, charge parts and failure tracking.
12. Must be able to accept direction, feedback and pay attention to details relating to quality of work.
13. Lead, mentor, train lower level techs to bring them up to levels that benefit the department.
14. Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable and timely attendance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend or kneel. The employee is continuously required to use hands and arms to reach, finger, handle, or feel objects and controls. The employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear.
The employee must regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

As a Maintenance Technician, an employee will work in a cool to extremely hot environment, dependent upon project, outdoor work may be performed. There is exposure to fuels, oils, cleaning solvents and fumes from machinery. Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the Maintenance area and while working on machinery. The noise level in the work environment varies depending upon project, hearing protection is required. Additional safety equipment may be required.
