Overview Of The Role
The position is responsible for plant maintenance and electrical repairs. Job responsibilities include the following:
•May be required to perform all types of duties including plumbing, steam fitting, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and mechanical repair on all types of equipment and machinery in the plant.
•List of equipment may include but is not limited to pumps, motors, sensors, meters, cylinders, conveyors, blowers, chains, hoists, cranes, vessels, tanks, lines, pipes, transfer stations, presses, and other equipment across plant site.
•Responsible for the quality of the work performed, safe performance of all tasks and good housekeeping of the work area.
•Ensures reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance and repairs on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; uses first principles and logic for troubleshooting malfunctions.
•Isolates problems by observing, listening, and inspecting equipment, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
•Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools; examining form and function of parts, components, and systems.
•Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
•Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges and precision tools including lasers and sonographic equipment.
•Works alongside production workers during routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
•Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
•May at times be assigned other duties in the department as required by the supervisor.
Key Accountabilities
•Control equipment to stay in parameters.
•Monitor process and make decisions to ensure it is running correctly.
•Work with Process Control Leader to ensure process is running smoothly.
•Maintain equipment through PMs, as required.
Qualifications
•3-5 + yrs. experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
•Strong mechanical skills, welding skills desirable, and electrical skills.
•A willingness to learn multi-craft skills.
•Certification/degree in industrial maintenance/repair.
•Must have strong electrical background in AC/DC motor control, PLC’s and Industrial Electronic Control Systems-digital, analog, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting.
•Must be willing to work occasional overtime.
