Overview
The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and facilities in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment. This role involves working closely with the production manager, the maintenance department, the procurement department, and suppliers to minimize downtime, optimize resources, and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all production and facility equipment.
•Prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality, availability, and production needs.
•Ensure all maintenance work orders are scheduled efficiently to minimize production disruptions.
•Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and production teams to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities.
•Communicate schedule changes and updates to relevant stakeholders.
•Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for outsourced maintenance services and spare parts availability.
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance work orders, completed tasks, and equipment history.
•Ensure maintenance schedules align with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
•Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance effectiveness, such as downtime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
•Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for scheduled maintenance tasks.
•Work with procurement to source and order necessary tools, parts, consumables, and services.
•Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability.
•Support root cause analysis of recurring maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
•Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures in all maintenance activities.

Characteristics:
•Experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
•Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
•Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) such as SAP PM, Maximo, or similar.
•Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Effective communication and teamwork skills.
•Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Diploma or degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
•3+ years of experience in maintenance scheduling, planning, or coordination in an automotive or manufacturing setting.
•Knowledge of metal fabrication industry standards, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
