The Maintenance Mechanic will perform general maintenance and repairs for equipment, machines and facilities including plumbing, electrical, welding, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other manufacturing systems.
The key responsibilities of this role include the following:
· Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with vendors and internal customers.
· Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
· Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
· Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
· Keeping repair tools and supplies clean and organized.
· Detecting, identifying, and repairing building issues, like basic problems with the building's electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
· High School diploma or work experience equivalent required.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
· Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
· Be willing to work overtime when needed.
· Be willing to fill in on other shifts from time to time as needed.
· Be willing to work on Saturday from time to time as needed.
This position is primarily in the production areas and requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and be tolerant of exposure to typical noises and smells associated environment.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
