Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that automotive manufacturing equipment and systems are operating at peak performance. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced automotive parts production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery, stamping presses, welding equipment, and assembly lines.
•
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-based systems to minimize downtime.
•
Repair and replace motors, drives, bearings, belts, pumps, gearboxes, and other critical components.
•
Perform basic programming and troubleshooting on PLCs and HMIs.
•
Follow lockout/tagout procedures and comply with all safety protocols and automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, etc.).
•
Record all maintenance activity and report potential issues or improvements.
•
Work closely with production and engineering teams to support process improvements and machine upgrades.
•
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
Requirements & Qualifications:
•
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical/Mechanical Technology preferred.
•
3+ years of maintenance experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
•
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
•
Experience with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, ABB) and PLC troubleshooting.
•
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
•
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•
Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency breakdowns.
Physical Requirements:
•
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for long periods, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
•
Tolerance for noise, heat, grease, and exposure to industrial environments.
