General Summary
Oversees and coordinates the work of the Maintenance Departments in accordance with company policies, manufacturing standards and methods in an Aluminum Extrusion, Machining environment. Facilitates work with focus on Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Cost.
Primary Responsibilities
•Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately
•Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.c., Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and OSHA requirements)
•Ensure all safety and health concerns that are discussed in the production and safety meetings are communicated with your staff.
•Encourage your staff to bring forward all safety concerns they may have.
•Create and maintain a continuous improvement and positive culture work environment with your staff.
•Ask questions and encourage input from team members.
•Monitor team member turnover: Identify key factors that can be improved.
•Performs team member evaluations professionally and on time.
•Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
•Manages, trains existing and new employees. Also makes request for additional employees in the department.
•Coach and consul, your team members to their full potential. If they are successful, you will be too.
•Sets achievable target with accuracy.
•Directs maintenance activities on all production equipment, facilities, and utility systems to provide a reliable production platform.
•Reviews the status of all maintenance related activities with team members.
•Reviews work schedules and manpower requirements.
•Provides necessary training, support, and guidance to team members.
•Collaborates on spare parts control program.
•Plans and implements effective procedures and policies for maintenance to ensure that all equipment, tools, facilities and utilities are in an acceptable state of repair.
•Monitors work to ensure that safety and quality standards are met.
•Maintains total awareness of operations’ policies, regulations and procedures and ensures proper adherence with respect to all maintenance and operations.
•Maintains close surveillance over maintenance and operations to ensure scheduled work and material needs, proper use of manpower, skills, equipment, and facilities: proper application of methods; and related matters.
•Develops predictive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure operability of all plant production equipment and facilities.
•Helps develop training schedules and train/find training for technicians on basic skills and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Demonstrated record of fostering cohesion between multiple departments from leadership experience outside of maintenance.
•Reliability engineer type of skill set is required to lead well-documented cross-functional team meetings through lean process improvements. A purely technical maintenance person will not fit this role without this key experience.
•Exceptional communication and documentation skills that facilitate both the development and creation of a growth infrastructure is required. Process infrastructure building, including cross-departmental documentation and exceptional follow-up is crucial for this role.
•People oriented focus to continuously develop skills and empower potential future leaders to excel with positive contributions toward a multiple-department, shared team, hybrid culture.
•Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job functions of a leadership role.
•Ability to troubleshoot and track equipment issues and to lead root cause analysis. Develop and implement long-term countermeasures.
•Must have 10 years of aluminum extrusion experience.
•General understanding of electrical, electronics, fabrication, hydraulics, mechanical drives, pneumatics, welding, assembly conveyor systems, and controls systems.
•Must be able to work in a multi-skilled environment with maintenance aptitude to learn skilled trades other than area of expertise.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, specifications, and technical instruction manuals.
•Must have a technical knowledge of all company products, processes, manufacturing, maintenance, procedures, equipment, terminology, and quality procedures.
•General understanding and working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and tooling, automation, or manufacturing processes (and all secondary related processes) relating to Aluminum Extrusion.
•Basic working knowledge of shop mathematics and the use of a variety of measuring devices and instruments.
•Ability work with a dynamic team and demanding customer(s).

•Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with a CMMS, Microsoft Office, and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
Requirements:
Credentials and Experience
•A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to operating or maintaining Aluminum presses.
•Minimum 10 years of relevant maintenance/production equipment experience with progressing level of responsibility.
•Minimum 2 years of functional leadership experience as a supervisor or an assistant manager.
•Understanding in maintenance/production equipment and the management of repair operations associated with electrical systems, electronics, fabrication, hydraulics, mechanical drives, pneumatics, welding, conveyor systems, and controls.
Essential Physical Functions
•While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, and see (with visual acuity).
•Performance requires mental alertness and sustained attention to needs of the department in terms of workflow, efficiency of operation, machine adjustment, and team member output.
•Performance requires physical ability to inspect, adjust, and operate equipment. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time throughout plant. Occasionally climbing, stooping, or bending on, under, or near tooling and equipment.
•May be occasionally required to reach, grasp, and manipulate parts, materials, or equipment.
•May occasionally be required to lift to 30-50 pounds (with or without assistance).
