THE POSITION: CCWD is seeking an experienced and dynamic Maintenance Manager to play a key role in managing multiple groups within the Operations & Maintenance Division. This position requires a proactive leader who excels in coordinating and overseeing diverse tasks related to facility management, including construction, repair, inspection, and maintenance of critical infrastructure. You will have a significant opportunity to influence strategic planning, drive the implementation of maintenance programs, and foster a collaborative, high-performance work culture.

Leading and overseeing maintenance, construction, and inspection activities for the District's facilities and equipment.

Building positive relationships with staff, the public, and other stakeholders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various District and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 25 pounds. When working in the field, must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; and reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch to inspect District facilities and projects. The job involves fieldwork requiring walking in operational areas.


ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS

Employees primarily work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may also work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes, dust, and air contaminants.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Employees are required to ensure reliable 24/7 operations, including on-call coverage and response to emergencies.

A defined benefit retirement plan; reciprocity with CalPERS and CalPERS reciprocal agencies. (Reciprocal agency service does not count toward the 5-year or 10-year vesting requirement for fully paid retiree medical.) The defined benefit is 2.35% at 55 for those with classic reciprocity. New hires who are not eligible for classic reciprocity are eligible for the 2% at 62 PEPRA defined benefit.

This position requires a minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible experience in water utility maintenance and construction, including five years of administrative or managerial experience. Describe how you meet or exceed this experience requirement.
