Position Overview: The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a foundry environment. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems ranging from DC controls to 480V three-phase power.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or code violations.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and restore operation.
- Work on electrical systems ranging from DC controls to 480V three-phase power.
- Perform machinery-related electrical repairs, including motors, gearboxes, control systems, and related components.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Washington State Electricians License preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial or Maintenance Electrician
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Working knowledge of applicable building and electrical safety codes.
- Experience working with DC through 480V three-phase electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical requirements, and specifications.
- Proficient in electrical testing methods to ensure system compatibility and safety.
- Experience performing electrical repairs on industrial machinery, including motors, gearboxes, and control systems.
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions
- Must have the ability to change between sitting, standing, and kneeling positions
- Must have the ability to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job duties
- Must have the ability to climb ladders or work at heights periodically
- Must have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally
- Must have the ability to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift
- Must have good vision and depth perception
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
- Must be able to withstand hot and cold temperatures
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
