We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Maintenance Coordinator to support maintenance planning and contractor coordination at our Kerrobert, Saskatchewan oil refinery. This position is responsible for developing maintenance schedules, hiring and monitoring third-party contractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time. This is an onsite role, Monday to Friday, and preference will be given to local candidates or those willing to relocate.
- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with operational needs.
- Develop detailed scopes of work and coordinate the bidding, selection, and onboarding of contractors.
- Oversee and monitor contractor activities on-site, ensuring safety compliance, quality workmanship, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Source out parts and delivery dates to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
- Meet or exceed industry best practices and engineering standards
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, procurement, and HSE teams to align maintenance activities with refinery priorities.
- Maintain accurate and current records in the Maintenance Management System, including job plans, labor hours, materials, and cost tracking. Familiarity with Limble software is considered an asset.
- Coordinate required permits and safety documentation, including job hazard analyses (JHAs), work permits, and confined space entry.
- Ensure availability of parts, tools, and equipment prior to job execution.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), continuous improvement initiatives, and reliability engineering reviews.
- Assist with planning and execution of major maintenance events, including turnarounds and shutdowns.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and hold contractors to the same expectation, setting the tone for a safety-first culture.
- Journeyperson Trades Certification in a relevant field (e.g., Pipefitter, Millwright, Electrician, etc.).
- Engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a Technologist Diploma, is also considered an asset.
- Minimum of 10+ years of operations or maintenance experience in support of crude oil processing (upstream and downstream) or terminal and pipeline facilities. Preference will be given to candidates with maintenance planning experience.- Minimum 3-5 years leadership experience with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively and effectively with functional areas and other operating areas.
- Express ideas clearly, both in written and oral communication.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of PC’s and MS Word and Excel.
- Onsite, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week) Must be available to support outside normal work hours and on-call emergency response.
