PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The position will be within the Shops Department and is responsible for performing general mechanical maintenance on power plant equipment. The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program. This position may regularly require 20% travel. Position Scope: Position reports to CGS Maintenance Foreman The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. Knowledge of plant equipment functions including safety rules and rigging, construction and maintenance practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex mechanical problems and make repairs. Safety Consciousness, Contributing to Team Success, Technical/Professional Knowledge, Work Standards and Communication.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, fans, bearings, pipe systems, valves and limit torque operators. (disassembly, part repair or replacement, assembly) using sound technical decisions regarding maintenance on complex mechanical equipment
•Adheres to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.
•Perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner at the direction of Maintenance Management.
•Demonstrates strong maintenance skill on various pumps, valves, and balance of plan (BOP) equipment in a safe and reliable manor using the correct tools, equipment such as rigging, fork trucks and cranes
•Execute work package when assigned.
•Interpret and understand power plant prints.
•Ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects.
•Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received.
•Perform verification checks on maintenance items covered in maintenance technician training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics with minimum of 3 years of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology OR
•5 years' experience in Maintenance Tech II or equivalent years of experience with trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology or relevant field experience
•Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the MASS test
•Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
•Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances
•Exposed to heat with reduced stay times, dust, smoke, dirt, high noise areas, confined and cramped work areas, and a nuclear power plant environment including Radiation Dose Exposure.
•Works at high elevations on ladders and scaffolds
•Works shift work or weekends as required including Overtime
•Perform tasks inside radiological controlled areas
•Maintains nuclear qualifications IAW CGS Specific training program.
•Maintain Radiation Protection Qualification and training, including respirator qualifications as needed
•Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access
•Good oral and written communication skills
•This position may require approximately 20% travel within company nuclear and Non-nuclear plant fleet

Manual Machining with high degree of accuracy
Set up and perform maintenance machining operations with a variety of materials using equipment such as:
•Bridgeport milling machines.
•Engine lathes &ndash 3 and 4 jaw chucks
•Vertical/Horizontal band saws,
CNC Machining with high degree of accuracy
Machine set up, operate and troubleshoot machining operations with a variety of materials using
equipment such as:
•CNC Vertical Milling Centers &ndash HAAS / Fanuc controls
•CNC Lathes &ndash Fanuc controls
•CAD/CAM Programming &ndash GibbsCAM
•CAD experience: AutoDesk / Inventor
•CAM programming experience: GibbsCAM
•Experience in CNC maintenance machining environment
