Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining processes and a passion for precision work. This role involves operating various types of machinery to produce high-quality components while adhering to safety standards and maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
•Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
•Reproduce technical drawings and blueprints, specifications.
•Utilize hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances of finished products.
•Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Machinist with a strong understanding of machining techniques.
•Proficiency in operating manual machining tools.
•Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
•Experience in lean manufacturing practices is preferred.
•Be able to read design prints, understand geometric design and tolerancing, and operate equipment such as Milling Centers and boring mills.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
•Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
•Electric motor machining and repair
•Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
•Calculate and determine dimensions, tapers, indices, and other data using shop formulae and handbooks as necessary
Select and grind tools for the job in accordance with hardness, machinability, desired finish and other properties of parts to be machined
Procure or make jigs, fixtures, or machine attachments required for the job
Machine parts to precision tolerances and specified finishes
Use precision measuring instruments
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Work in the shop/departments as required
Responsible for practicing safety and reporting any unsafe conditions at all times
Inspect and verify tooling as per print specifications
Provide prompt and efficient support to the operating departments in all breakdown situations that may require a machinist Join us in our mission to deliver exceptional products while fostering an innovative workplace culture!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
