Job Title: Machinist
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Machinist with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in both manual machining and CNC programming. We're looking for someone that can quickly learn to run our machine and work independently running an evening shift. As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components while ensuring efficiency and accuracy in our machining processes.
An ability to successfully set-up complex castings for machining will be critical in addition to understanding how to offset the CNC code to adapt to inconsistent castings.
Responsibilities:
Manual Machining:
Set up* and operate manual milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment.
•Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce accurate and precise components.
•Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding to tight tolerances.
CNC Understanding:
•Set up and operate CNC machining centers, ensuring the correct tooling and fixtures are in place.
•Make necessary adjustments to program for offsets on each unique casting.
•Troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
Quality Assurance:
•Conduct thorough inspections of machined components to ensure they meet required specifications.
•Make necessary adjustments to maintain high-quality standards and adherence to tolerances.
Equipment Maintenance:
•Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
•Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues that may affect production.
Collaboration:
•Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and provide input on manufacturability.
•Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machinist.
•Proficient in manual machining techniques and CNC programming.
•Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
•Experience with industry-standard CNC programming software.
•Solid understanding of machining processes, tool selection, and cutting parameters.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Knowledge of safety protocols in a machining environment.
Education:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Additional technical certifications in machining or related fields are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
