Machine Programmer & CAD Designer

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is part of the Layout team. Uses AP-100US to program fiber laser and turrets. Uses NC Express to program CO2 punch combo machine. Utilize CAD to design orders for the shop as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
•
Produce accurate programs on a timely basis for a variety of machines
•
Work with production to resolve issues, troubleshoot programs, and implement improvements
•
Prepare technical designs and drawings by use of SolidWorks, and/or other method(s)
•
Interact with manufacturing to ensure programs are accurate and designs are manufacturable
•
Interface between sales and manufacturing to produce a design that meets the customers’ expectations
•
Oversee the execution of assigned projects from design to shipment
•
Perform additional duties as requested and assigned
•
Other responsibilities as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS
•
G-Code program understanding required
•
Experience and understanding of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
•
A strong mechanical aptitude is a plus
•
Ability to read and use measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures
•
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks with simultaneous timelines and complete them accurately
•
Have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across varying levels of the organization.
•
Ability to use critical thinking and sound reasoning to solve moderately complex manufacturing problems
•
SolidWorks Sheet Metal experience is a plus
REQUIREMENTS
•
2-3 Years minimum experience in Programming
•
1-3 Years minimum experience in CAD design
•
Experience in blueprint reading
•
Some SolidWorks experience preferred
