Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Position Overview

As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and building our ML strategy while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will leverage your expertise to production ready models and ML Ops that drive our cybersecurity solutions. Responsibilities

ML Strategy & Roadmap

•

Define and own the end-to-end machine learning roadmap for cybersecurity use cases (e.g. anomaly detection, threat classification, automated response). Evaluate emerging ML techniques (e.g. graph neural networks, contrastive learning, LLMs) and recommend pilots to drive innovation.

Model Development & Productionization

•

Lead design and implementation of production-grade ML models: feature engineering, training at scale, hyperparameter tuning, versioning. Translate proof-of-concept prototypes into reliable, high-throughput services, ensuring performant code, automated testing, and CI/CD integration.

MLOps & Infrastructure

•

Architect and maintain robust MLOps pipelines (data ingestion, preprocessing, training, validation, deployment, monitoring) using tools like Kubeflow/MLflow, Seldon, or Argo.

•

Implement model monitoring (drift detection, performance dashboards), alerting, and automated retraining workflows to guarantee accuracy and compliance.

Collaboration

•

Work closely with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement features that enhance user experience and security posture.

AI & ML Leadership

•

Collaborate with leadership to set the AI and ML direction for the team while balancing speed, innovation, and quality.

Must Have Skills

•

5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying ML models in production

•

Expert in Python ML ecosystem (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)

•

Strong MLOps background: CI/CD for ML, Docker/Kubernetes, Kubeflow/MLflow, CI pipelines

•

Deep understanding of model evaluation, A/B testing, drift detection, and performance tuning

•

Proven experience designing and deploying real-time streaming ML pipelines (e.g., Kafka with Flink or Spark Streaming) featuring stateful processing, windowing, and low-latency model inference.

•

Strong communication skills and ability to distill complex ML concepts for non-experts

•

A hunger for growth and the desire to work in a low-ego environment.

Preferred Skills

•

Familiarity with graph-based ML (e.g. Neo4j, PyG) or sequence modeling (e.g. Transformers)

•

Experience in fast-paced startups, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration

•

Prior experience leading or mentoring small ML teams

•

Cybersecurity experience, ideally in a startup environment

•

Experience with streaming / real-time data processing (Kafka, Flink)

•

Travel readiness for potential client engagements or team retreats.
