Principal Objective of Position:
The Outside Processing Coordinator is responsible for competitive and timely outsourcing and delivery of products used in production of products for customers, as well, purchasing of assigned products. This position also works to negotiate pricing of outside vendors and compiles and maintains records of business transactions and office activities of the organization within the functional area of responsibility, as required.
Essential Functions:

•Manages coil stock at the contracted cut-to-length provider. Manages shearing, laser, welding and blanking at contracted provider facilities.
•Compiles data and maintains records of business transactions and office activities. Generates reports as directed.
•Negotiates competitive pricing on Services. Evaluates quotes for capability/quality requirements, delivery requirements, competitive pricing and approved supplier status.
•Reviews requisitions and assists in submitting RFQ’s/RFP’s to suppliers for pricing and availability.
•Enters and submits purchase orders to suppliers and reviews acknowledgements to purchase order requirements as required.
•Responsible for review/status of purchase orders and expediting as required.
•Resolves with Vendor any discrepancies with quantity, quality specifications or pricing.
•Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
•Reviews RFQ’s/RFP’s and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
•Responsible for inputs into the inventory tracking system
Other Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with Sales and Operations to help maintain an appropriate inventory.
•Abide by and practice safe job procedures.
•Complete necessary paperwork when needed.
•Record information in ERP system as required.
•May be required to enter Mill-specific Purchase Orders monthly for assigned Mills.
•May be required to manage spot buy needs from sales group, as needed.
•Many need to create new item numbers as needed.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
•Minimum of 5 years purchasing/planning experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
•Strong customer service orientation
•Proven proficiency in the use of a personal computer
•Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
•Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
•Accuracy with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi task while working in an open office environment
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal formats
•Self-starter and ability to think on the fly
•Ability to navigate stressful situations effectively and professionally and offer or execute solutions to resolve issues.
Preferred Qualifications
•Associates degree or greater in business, manufacturing, or related field.
•Microsoft AX or Dynamics 365 experience preferred
•Experience dealing in the metals market a plus
