Responsibilities:
•Manage/ Maintain the logistics board, routes, personnel, and Fortress vehicles.
•Daily load out board needs updated and completed by 12pm each day to ensure proper load outs and to give the loaders time to get their job done by 5pm. There may be adjustments that need to be made before loading is complete, but those are manageable.
•Paperwork and boxes are to be checked by the supervisor each and every day without question!
•Check each route throughout the week to make sure that some routes aren’t light and others heavy. We need to closely manage this for the driver’s safety as well as for the health of our truck fleet. Routes need to be as average as they can be to not overwork any one driver or truck.
•Manage each driver. They all report to you. They need to follow the chain of command. Even on your days off, the first calls need to go to you. If you’re unavailable or you can’t help that driver, then they can come to Seth or me.
•Come up with a plan to have back-up drivers in case of sick days, vacations, or other reasons a driver can’t drive.
•Once a week, go through every truck inspection, make sure they are being done the right way and are not being pencil whipped. Look for deficiencies and other notes that the drivers may have failed to mention to you.
•Physically inspect every truck in our fleet, checking for missing equipment, PPE, check engine lights, damage Etc. This task needs to be completed at a minimum of once per week.
•Make a whiteboard in your office listing each truck, who’s driving them, if they’re in the shop, which shop they’re in, what’s wrong with them and an ETA of getting the truck back. We also need to put trucks on the board that need oil changes, filters, tire rotations and collect the mileage on every truck each Friday.
•Once a week, make sure all cameras are plugged in, operating as they should be. We don’t need to monitor cameras every day, it is a waste of time. If we get alerts of speed or other dangerous alerts, we will monitor as needed.
