Role Overview

The Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation,

storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for energy projects.

This role ensures efficient supply chain operations, timely deliveries, and cost-effective

logistics strategies while complying with regulatory and safety standards. The Logistics

Manager works closely with procurement, project management, construction teams, and

vendors to streamline logistics for projects in renewables (solar, wind), power generation, oil

& gas, substations, and transmission & distribution (T&D) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

 Develop and execute logistics strategies to support energy project timelines.

 Oversee the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials, equipment,

and heavy machinery.

 Optimize inventory management to minimize delays and prevent material shortages.

 Coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and third-party logistics (3PL)

companies to ensure timely deliveries.

 Plan and manage the shipping and delivery schedules for domestic and international

suppliers.

 Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, IATA, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT)

regulations for freight transport.

 Monitor and track real-time shipments, resolving any delays or issues proactively.

 Optimize freight costs through strategic partnerships and bulk shipping agreements.

 Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently.

 Maintain accurate inventory levels, implementing just-in-time (JIT) strategies to

reduce costs.

 Coordinate with procurement teams to forecast material needs and plan deliveries

accordingly.

 Ensure proper handling, labeling, and tracking of materials to prevent damage or loss.

 Ensure all logistics activities comply with local, federal, and international regulations.

 Develop and enforce safety protocols for material handling and transport.

 Identify logistical risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent supply chain

disruptions.

 Maintain records of shipping documents, customs clearance, and regulatory

compliance reports.

 Monitor and manage logistics costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost

reduction.

 Develop cost-effective transportation and warehousing solutions for large-scale

energy projects.

 Negotiate contracts with freight carriers, warehouse providers, and logistics service

providers.

 Track KPIs and performance metrics to assess logistics efficiency and adjust strategies

accordingly.

 Work closely with procurement, construction, project management, and finance

teams to align logistics with project goals.

 Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics

partners.

 Provide logistics support for emergency or urgent material requests to prevent project

delays.

 Implement eco-friendly logistics solutions to reduce carbon emissions and waste.

 Optimize route planning and fuel-efficient transportation methods for heavy

equipment.

 Support the company's sustainability goals by reducing material waste and

implementing recycling programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

 Experience: 7+ years in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation,

preferably in energy, construction, or industrial sectors.

 Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business

Administration, or a related field.
