Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for a Logistics Supervisor to join our team.
A Logistics Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating the storage, transportation, and delivery of goods. Here’s a detailed job description that includes production scheduling responsibilities:
· Oversee the movement, distribution, and storage of supplies and materials.
· Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
· Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
· Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
· Work closely with production teams to align logistics with production timelines.
· Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines.
· Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available.
· Monitor all cycle counts and identified issues related to variances (miss tagged, misplaced, theft, damage). Conduct root cause analysis
· Reorder products as needed to maintain inventory levels.
· Conduct cost analysis to select cost-effective transportation options.
· Conduct inventory audits on an annual basis and working with the senior management and finance team
· Establish and maintain communication with suppliers, custom brokers, carriers, and customers.
· Ensure all parties work together to guarantee timely shipment and delivery.
· Resolve any issues or complaints related to logistics and production scheduling.
· Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
· Implement safety procedures and standards, ensuring staff follow them.
· Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (e.g., truck drivers) according to availabilities and requirements.
· Monitor and manage logistics personnel to ensure efficient and safe delivery of goods.
· Motivate and manage various individuals to work together and achieve set goals and objectives.
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
· 3 or more years Inventory Management experience strongly preferred
· Proficiency in logistics software and tools (ERP Systems, inventory management software)
· Must be very good working with numbers
· Must have ability to organize and schedule work effectively
· general familiarity with basic accounting, manufacturing, freight, warehousing, and international distribution
· Demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings through process change
· Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
· Ability to meet demands on short deadlines.
· Ability to resolve conflicts and handle complaints effectively.
