Primary Purpose
The LNG Commercial & Planning Associate is responsible for the administration of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Annual Delivery Plans (ADP), Ninety Day Schedules (NDS), Day-to-Day Commercial Management of LNG Facilities, and determination of Feed Gas requirements for Liquefaction projects on an annual, daily, and intra-day basis. This position will support the communicate with Sales and Purchasing Agreement (SPA) customers, Terminal Operations, Gas Scheduling Management, and Pipeline Operations to ensure the successful execution of ADPs and fulfillment of Annual Contract Quantities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review NDSs, in accordance with existing SPA requirements and support any necessary changes from the buyers or sellers.
Participates in monitoring the LNG inventory levels to avoid operational disruptions such as turndown or tank tops and forecast potential marketing opportunities for surplus LNG or spot cargo sales.
Support project production planners, managers, and SPA customers to develop and manage ADPs.
Utilizes the commercial business systems support Sempra Infrastructure (SI) LNG commercial operations, including Energy Components and Endure/Openlink.
Coordinate scheduled turnaround maintenance plans for liquefaction trains, minimizing disruptions and ensuring timely completion.
Collaborate with Pipeline, Operations, and Gas Scheduling teams to manage unplanned outages and adjust NDS accordingly.
Monitors Annual Contract Quantities (ACQ) to ensure fulfillment of SPA obligations.
Assist with the vetting of LNG carriers (LNGCs) to ensure compliance with quality standards before facility calls.
Monitors the key performance indicator (KPI) measures and reports across SI, and provides support for continuous improvement.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business, related field, or equivalent experience. Required
Experience
2 years of experience in the Energy Industry in development and management of commercial structures specific to LNG and a history of close working relationships with plant operations. Required
Skills and Abilities
Understanding of LNG commercial contracts, structures, and delivery programs and their impact on commercial terms and physical operations. Intermediate
