Overview:
BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Technical Learning & Development, the L&D Coordinator – General Trainer, is responsible for ensuring employees are trained and competent to perform their roles safely and effectively. This position facilitates onboarding, conducts evaluations, delivers safety and mobile equipment training, and supports compliance with site procedures and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively across departments, the L&D Coordinator – General Trainer ensures training programs align with site procedures, legal obligations, and operational excellence. Through field-based instruction and frontline engagement, the role supports continuous improvement and contributes to Blackwater Mine’s safety, compliance, and workforce development objectives.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership
•Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing Blackwater Gold's safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
•Champion exemplary safety and sustainability performance in alignment with Blackwater's policies and expectations.
•Actively promote and role-model Blackwater Mine's behavioural standards.
•Provides visible FELT leadership in alignment with all Blackwater Mine's values.
Training Management
•Serves as a champion of the SafeStart program.
•Support training coordination during scheduled shutdowns by delivering pre-task training and confirming compliance requirements.
•Design and deliver safe and effective competency evaluations to assess employee’s ability to perform their role.
•Review and validate training materials to ensure relevance to Blackwater Mine’s equipment, procedures, and standards.
•Adapt and update existing training content to reflect changes in operational changes.
•Maintain accurate training records using tools such as SharePoint Lists and the Learning Management System (LMS); ensure audits or inspections readiness.
•Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of site-wide training programs.
Learning Management System (LMS)
•Provide support in administering the LMS as required.
•Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to LMS.
•Train users on the LMS across different job roles and levels to ensure effective system usage.
•Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery, recordkeeping, and reporting.
Training Delivery and Evaluation
•Facilitate onboarding programs and mandatory safety training.
•Deliver classroom and field-based training for various mobile and stationary equipment, including but not limited to: Skid Steer, Telehandler, Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), Overhead Crane, and Forklift.
•Conduct evaluations on operational tasks and equipment competencies.
•Mentor peers and team members on technical content and best practices.
•Build strong relationships through consistent communication and stakeholder consultation.
•Collaborate with HR to support workforce reporting and compliance tracking.
•Conduct research to improve training programs, methodologies, and technologies as needed.
•Assist in integrating new tools and digital platforms to modernize training delivery and improve learner engagement.
•Provide actionable, constructive feedback to enhance training effectiveness and clarity.
•Mentor and support employees in understanding site practices, operational procedures, and safety expectations.
•Model safety-first mindset and inclusive communication style in all training activities.
Qualifications:
Essential
•Minimum 3 years of experience in a mining, heavy industrial, or processing environment, preferably in a workforce training capacity.
•Minimum 3 years of experience in training, supervisory, or safety-related role.
•Demonstrated experience facilitating equipment or compliance-based training.
•Familiarity with the BC Mines Act, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations, and related compliance frameworks.
•Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools.
•Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse workforce.
•Proven ability to deliver both classroom and field-based training.
Preferred
•Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent instructional experience.
•Instructor certifications such as WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
•Experience developing and updating training materials to align with changing site procedures or regulatory requirements.
•Technical aptitude and experience operating or evaluating mobile and stationary equipment.
