Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Electrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, particularly in commercial settings, and will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects from conception to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and the ability to lead a team effectively on construction sites.
Duties
•
Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and apprentices on-site to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
•
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including low voltage systems, using hand tools and power tools.
•
Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
•
Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute renovations ensuring timely completion of all electrical work.
•
Conduct inspections of completed work to verify adherence to local codes and regulations.
•
Provide training and mentorship to junior electricians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
•
Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong understanding of logic controllers and low voltage systems.
•
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment necessary for electrical installation and repair.
•
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems.
•
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues effectively.
•
Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and other stakeholders on construction sites.
•
Valid electrician’s license or certification is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
