Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Electrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, particularly in commercial settings, and will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects from conception to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and the ability to lead a team effectively on construction sites.
Duties
•Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and apprentices on-site to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
•Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including low voltage systems, using hand tools and power tools.
•Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
•Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute renovations ensuring timely completion of all electrical work.
•Conduct inspections of completed work to verify adherence to local codes and regulations.
•Provide training and mentorship to junior electricians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong understanding of logic controllers and low voltage systems.
•Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment necessary for electrical installation and repair.
•Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems.
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues effectively.
•Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and other stakeholders on construction sites.
•Valid electrician’s license or certification is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
