Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Field Supervisor to oversee field operations within our Controls and HVAC department. This individual will lead and manage a team of field technicians, ensuring the installation, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC control systems are carried out with exceptional quality, on time, and within budget. The Lead Field Supervisor will ensure compliance with safety standards, troubleshoot complex systems, and act as the primary point of contact between the field team and project management. This role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC systems and controls, along with outstanding leadership and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
•Reports to the Director of Operations.
•Oversees electrical teams in West Michigan.
•Coordinates with West Michigan project management for manpower and schedules installation manpower as appropriate.
•Provide feedback of workload and maintains workload balance between installation subcontractors and the internal install team.
•Provide feedback to apprenticeship instructors on areas where additional training could be necessary.
•Participate in performance reviews for Field Install Leads, Journeymen, and Apprentices.
•Provide feedback for electrical install hiring needs.
•Work with Project Managers to review and approve subcontract estimates for projects.
•Brainstorm, create, and implement plans for installation operation efficiencies.
•Reviews controls drawings and plans to ensure project scope is fulfilled.
•Assists and ensures that preproject install layouts are completed.
•Mentors install teams to preplan installation projects and train them for parts orders and deliveries.
•Assists in site troubleshooting and install questions as necessary.
•Utilize company technology to leverage tasks.
•Utilize and document using Control Solutions CRM software.
Qualifications:
•Experience: At least 5 to 7 years of experience in electrical and building controls, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience with system
integration, DDC (Direct Digital Controls), and building automation systems (BAS) is highly desirable.
•Skills & Abilities: o Strong leadership and team management skills.
•Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, automation, and troubleshooting.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Strong organizational and time management abilities.
•In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to HVAC and electrical systems.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and system specifications.
•Proficiency with field management software and related tools.
•Skilled in using Bluebeam for streamlined document management and project efficiency.
•At least a journeyman-level qualification or equivalent experience.
