Laser Operator (Tube)

NELSON STEEL PRODUCTS, INC., a leader in sheet metal fabrication, has an opportunity available for experienced Tube Laser Operator on 1st shift.

1st SHIFT Operator NEEDED: We work a standard 5 days at 8 hours per day (6:30a-3:00pm M-F). Overtime is typically from 6:00am - 11:00am on Saturday, but not guaranteed.

Essential Functions

1. Operate the tube laser cutter.

2. Follow work order and load machine accordingly

3. Verifies for proper dimensions and operation of the laser cutter, and monitors for correct cut condition.

4. Adjust template supports as needed.

5. Load, unload, and check in metal sheets as needed.

6. Grind parts as needed.

7. Performs inspection of parts; evaluates work to determine if it is high quality/acceptable.

8. Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.

9. Responsible for powering equipment up and down, and keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Communicates to co-workers and other team members in an effective way.
